Our Story
At the heart of Kinkuna & Ko is a maker’s hands and a deep respect for the material.
Every pair of our handmade rosewood timber earrings is created from the finest rosewood timber in Queensland and shaped through a slow, deliberate process that values craftsmanship over speed.
Hand sanded timber
Before any design is cut, the timber is sanded by hand for several hours. This stage alone requires patience, strength, and a practiced feel for the wood. Smoothing, refining, and preparing the surface so it’s ready for what comes next. Only when the timber is just right is it run through the laser, where the earring shapes are carefully cut.
Carefully curated collections
Our collections are curated as limited edition drops, designed to be special rather than endless. Each design is chosen intentionally, then brought to life through hands-on making.
Waxed and finished by hand
Once cut, the rosewood is hand-waxed to protect the timber and enhance its natural grain. The wax is left to settle, then gently rubbed back by hand. A final tactile step that reveals the warmth and character of the wood beneath. Stainless steel hardware is then attached by hand, completing the transformation from raw timber to wearable piece.
From start to finish, every pair of earrings passes through multiple stages of manual work. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is automated beyond what precision demands. Time, care, and quiet focus are part of the making.
These earrings are not simply produced. They are shaped, finished, and brought to life by hand.
Unique character
That is what gives each piece its character.
That is what makes every pair unique.
Kinkuna & Ko exists to honour the maker, the material, and the many hours that go into creating something meaningful.
Jewellery made from the land, by hand, with care and love.
